1

*Calvin Johnson- 6-5, 239, 4.35

WR

Georgia Tech

Most complete player/athlete in draft. Better prospect than Reggie Bush. Stepped in at the Combine, unprepared, borrowed a QB's sneakers and ran a 4.35. Just when you think he cannot be more impressive he has his Proday! Broad Jump of 11' 7", Vert 42.5!

NFL.com: Johnson, whom some people think is the most talented player in the draft, had a broad jump of 11 feet 7 inches. That's the best broad jump I can ever remember an NFL prospect having. And his vertical jump was outstanding, too (42½ inches). He looked very good catching the ball while running routes and his arm was measured at 34 5/8 inches.

10

2

*Jamarcus Russell-  6-5.75, 256 , 4.83

QB

LSU

Has it all, including ability to step up in big games. The most impressive aspect of Russell's character was his work between the Combine and his Proday. His two biggest weaknesses at the Combine were seen as his weight and his footwork So what does he do? he hires a Quarterback coach to work specifically of his footwork  and goes on a diet. Then at his Proday he shows up 9 pounds lighter, and displays noticeably improved footwork.

9.8

3

Joe Thomas-  6-6.5, 311, 4.92

OT

Wisconsin

Franchise LT, similar to Ogden. Combines great size, great feet, long arms, Text-book technique, and great athleticism. Stepped up at combine and really showed he was the number one guy. At nearly 6-7 he showed he was a phenomenal athlete, smooth as ice.

9.8

4

Brady Quinn-  6-4, 230

QB

Notre Dame

Has it all except ability to step up in big games.

NFL.com: Quinn did only passing drills and had a good workout, showing good velocity and good anticipation. Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis ran the passing drills. Quinn threw to Irish tight end Marcus Freeman and receivers Rhema McKnight, Darius Walker and Matt Shelton, who finished at Notre Dame in 2005. On March 22, Quinn weighed in 233 pounds. He ran indoors on FieldTurf. He ran his 40s faster than expected (4.82 and 4.73). He also ran the short shuttle in 4.22 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.79 (with tiny cones, not tall ones). In addition, he had a 36-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-7 broad jump.

9.8

5

Gaines Adams -  6-4.75, 261, 4.64, 21 Reps

DE/OLB

Clemson

One of four DEs/OLBs who will probably go as high as their athleticism tests out at combine. He has solidified himself as the top pass rushing DE/OLB in this Draft. Was a Unanimous All-American last season.

NFL.com: "Compares To: Leonard Little, St. Louis Rams … Adams is a bit taller than Little, but both are more along the lines of 'tweeners, as they lack ideal bulk you look for in a down lineman … However, both have excellent quickness coming off the edge and good change-of-direction agility … Adams is a great pass deflector who times his leaps well to knock the ball down at the line of scrimmage … He showed better maturity and less frustration on the field in 2006 than he did in the past … He lacks the sand in his pants to face up to the bigger offensive tackles, and needs to improve his size and strength for the next level … Ideally, he finds a home as an edge rusher in a Cover-2 scheme."

Adams (261 pounds) notched 21 bench presses and did position drills, but stood on the rest of his Combine numbers.

Campus: 4.72 in the 40-yard dash … 350-pound bench press … Bench presses 225 pounds 20 times … 465-pound squat … 345-pound power clean … 380-pound hang clean … 36-inch vertical jump … 9-foot-11 broad jump … 34 1/8-inch arm length … 9 7/8-inch hands … Left-handed … Wears contacts.

9.8

6

Amobi Okoye- 6-2, 302, 5.0, 29 Reps

DT

Louisville

Athletic freak, who played Division One Football at 16. Is still only 19, and has shown the physical and mental maturity to play in the NFL already. Showed up at Combine weighing 302 pounds, and still showed well. The scary thing is that he s still growing.

NFL.com: Okoye (301 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.88. He also had a 4.44 short shuttle but stood on his numbers from the Combine for the rest.

9.8

7

LaRon Landry- 6.6, 212, 4.34, 4.35

S/CB

LSU

Landry impressed me on the field, he came up with big play after game-changing big play. This player more then any other shows the depth of this years draft. In any other year he is a  top five player, and I think he may slip out of the top ten.

NFL.com: Francis (6-0½, 212) stood on his 40 times from the Combine. He ran the short shuttle in 4.36 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.11. He also had a 38-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-6 broad jump.

9.8

8

*Jamaal Anderson- 6-6, 281, 4.8

DE/DT

Arkansas

Is drawing comparisons to Richard Seymour. Did not workout at Combine. His stock is dropping slightly, more to a lack of viability than anything else. Had interesting Proday, as he added 19 pounds to his playing weight of 265.

NFL.com: "Compares To: Aaron Schobel -- Buffalo … It is evident that Anderson is a great speed rusher coming off the edge or when stunting. Like Schobel, he needs to demonstrate better hand usage to keep blockers off his body, but both have the lateral range, second gear and explosion to be a disruptive force in the backfield. While Anderson is taller and heavier that Schobel, both rely on their quickness for most of their success at getting to the quarterback."

Anderson (284 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.75 and 4.80. He also had a 9-foot-8 long jump, 32½-inch vertical jump, 4.22 short shuttle, 6.88 three-cone drill and 22 bench presses.

Campus: 4.76 in the 40-yard dash … Bench presses 225 pounds 22 times … 320-pound power clean … 34-inch vertical jump … 33 5/8-inch arm length … 9 7/8-inch hands.

9.7

9

*Adrian Peterson- 6-1, 225, 4.4

RB

Oklahoma

Word of Oklahoma is that he broke his collar bone Fiesta Bowl and needs surgery again. That is four major injuries in three years of college. He is a HUGE risk, and I would not take him in the top ten.

Maybe top player in draft, besides Calvin Johnson, if not for injury concern. A RB who can't stay healthy is large liability, but he dominated at the Combine, showing he was the top RB Athletically.

9.8

10

Patrick Willis-   6-1, 242, 4.39

ILB

Mississippi

Made a lot of money at Combine when he ran a 4.49. He has everything else you want in a LB. Reminds me of Ernie Sims, he leads with his head and heart. This is the player the Patriots really need. He will and not just youth and depth, but exceptional speed to Linebacking core. Had an inhuman Proday, running a 4.37 at almost 240 Pounds.

NFL.com: "Willis (6-1, 237 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.37 and 4.38. He also had a 4.37 short shuttle and 7.10 three-cone drill. He stood on his numbers from the Combine for the rest. He had a phenomenal workout and clearly made several seven-figure increments in his rookie contract."

9.7

11

Leon Hall-  5-11,195, 4.39

CB

Michigan

Great player, I may like more then most, but this is a draft prospective from a Patriots point of view, and DBs and Linebackers maybe over rated a little this year.

NFL.com: Campus: 4.42 in the 40-yard dash … 33-inch vertical jump … 30¾-inch arm length … 8 7/8-inch hands.

Combine: 4.41 in the 40-yard dash … 1.49 10-yard dash … 2.54 20-yard dash … 4.07 20-yard shuttle … 11.62 60-yard shuttle … 6.5 three-cone drill … 37½-inch vertical jump … 10-foot-5 broad jump.

9.7

12

Levi Brown- 6-5.5, 323

OLT

Penn ST.

Will play Left Tackle in NFL for 10-15 years. As I predicted his stock just keeps rising.

NFL.com: Brown (6-5 ¼, 321) had arms that measured 34 3/8. He stood on his Combine numbers.

9.7

13

*Darrelle Revis- 5-11, 190, 4.38

CB

Pittsburgh

Great player at Pittsburgh for three solid seasons. His only concern is speed, and he ran a 4.36 at his Proday. He is a big physical Corner, who supports the run with strength and aggressiveness. He is suck a physical player many people think he should be a safety, but he is a superior man-to-man cover guy.

NFL.com: "Revis (5-11 ¼, 196) ran the 40 in 4.41 and 4.39 seconds. He also notched a 38-inch vertical, a 10-foot-5 broad jump, a 4.08 short shuttle and a 6.56 three-cone drill. Sean Gilbert, a former first-round pick and 10-year NFL player, is his uncle. This workout made him some money, solidifying his status as a mid-first round pick."

9.6

14

Adam Carriker- 6-6, 296, 4.72, 33 Reps

DE/DT

Nebraska

Great player. Has really solidified himself into the top half of the First Round. Has great size, strength, and technique, and he can play multiple positions in multiple Defensive fronts.

NFL.com: Carriker (6-6, 291) ran 4.73 and 4.72 in the 40.

9.5

15

*Charles Johnson-  6-3, 270, 4.75, 33 Reps

DE

Georgia

Great athlete who will soar up the charts come Combine time. Showed great strength at Combine and then showed good speed at Proday. Will be hard to pass early.

NFL.com: Johnson (272 pounds) ran his 40s in 4.75 and 4.81.

9.5

16

*Jarvis Moss-  6-6, 250, 4.68

DE/OLB

Florida

I thought he was great in Championship game He is very smart and appears to be able to do anything he wants on the field. And most important of all, he never stops hustling on the field. Due to playing most of his college career with a staph infection in his hip, he may have the highest upside of any DE/OLB in the draft, as he is still growing physically.

NFL.com: Moss (258 pounds) ran his 40s in 4.76 and 4.78 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.41 and the three-cone drill in 7.22.

Campus: 4.63 in the 40-yard dash … 265-pound bench press … 415-pound squat (from 2004) … 37-inch vertical jump … 33½-inch arm length … 9½-inch hands.

9.5

17

*Alan Branch-  6-5.75, 324, 5.05, 33 reps

DT

Michigan

Has really hurt himself in the off season, and it looks like he is dropping to some of the 3-4 teams. Terrible Proday. Should dominate earlier and for a long time. Has great instincts, size, and strength. May slide a little lower, but he won't last long. His lack of effort in playing hard every down is starting to worry teams, and he may be falling out of the top ten.

NFL.com: Branch (6-5¾, 328) ran the short shuttle in 4.79 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.56. Kansas City defensive line coach Tim Krumrie worked Branch hard during the position drills, and the scouts there said Branch did not look like he was in very good shape.

9.5

18

*Ted Ginn Jr.-  WR  5-11.5, 178, 4.38

WR

Ohio State

Like Reggie Bush last year, when Ginn steps on the field he is the fastest player in pads. Must learn to run routes better and with more precision. Very small and must add weight. But when he is running in the open field there is no one better.

NFL.com: On April 11, Ginn -- who did not run at the Combine or OSU's Pro Day -- worked out on campus before representatives of most of the NFL teams. He ran his 40s in 4.38, 4.44 and 4.45 seconds. He ran no shuttles and did no jumps, and because of his sore foot, stopped running routes after doing about 20 of them. Three head coaches were there: Scott Linehan (Rams), Marvin Lewis (Bengals) and Cam Cameron (Dolphins). Also there were Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller and Rams vice president for player personnel Tony Softli.

9.4

19

*Lawrence Timmons-   6-1, 234, 4.59

LB

Florida State

Super athletic Outside Linebacker and has great instincts and makes big plays all over the field.

NFL.com: Timmons (6-0¾, 233) ran his 40s in 4.63 and 4.71 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.34 and stood on everything else he did at the NFL Scouting Combine.

9.3

20

*Greg Olsen- 6-5.5, 255, 4.41, 37.5 Vert

TE

Miami

Showed up at Combine bigger, faster, and stronger than expected. Runs routes and catches the ball like a WR. Much better player than I thought, after watching him on TV, I am very impressed. Blocking is a concern.

NFL.com: Olsen (255 pounds) had a 37½-inch vertical jump and 9-foot-11 broad jump and ran a 4.41 in the short shuttle. He will work out again March 24 at the University of Miami.

9.3

21

*Reggie Nelson-  6', 195, 4.35

FS

Florida

Terrific Athlete who makes plays all over the field. If he makes it to 24 I can't see the Pats passing on him. Ran a 4.35 at Proday and displayed amazing athleticism.

NFL.com: Nelson ran the 40 once in a time of 4.35 seconds. He had a 35-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-6 broad jump, ran 4.15 in the short shuttle and 6.70 in the three-cone drill. Nelson looked very good in the drills and might well have improved his stock.

Campus: 4.37 in the 40-yard dash … 325-pound bench press … 315-pound power clean … 39-inch vertical jump … 10-foot broad jump … 3.97 20-yard shuttle … 32-inch arm length … 9½-inch hands.

9.2

22

Joe Staley-  6-6, 305, 4.82

OT/OG

C. Michigan

Great athlete who is still converting from TE. I always rated LTs who started as TEs higher. Has added strength and size. Legitimate Left Tackle Prospect. If reports on Staley's Proday are correct he will not make it past KC, and may not reach KC. Ran a 4.8 at his Proday, also had a 32-inch Vert, and did 27 Reps.

NFL.com: Staley (6-5 7/8, 304 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.82. He also had a 32-inch vertical jump, 9-foot-4 long jump, 4.42 short shuttle and 7.09 three-cone drill.

9.1

23

*Marshawn Lynch-  5-10, 220, 4.46, 10'5" Vert.

RB

California

Has been compared to Laurence Maroney. Arrest will cause him to slide, but I can't see the Giant passing on him.

9.1

24

*Chris Houston-  5-10, 185, 4.32, 27 Reps

CB

Arkansas

Houston is a physical Freak with superior cover skills. Has the BEST combination of strength and speed in the draft. He can bench an amazing 450 pounds, and ran a 4.32 at the Combine. He iss aggressive in press Coverage, has terrific Man-on-Man instincts, and can run hip-to-hip with anyone. I don't see how the Pats could pass on him at 24. He is not just a Workout-Warrior. He can play. He is smooth in coverage and has great hips that him to turn and run as well as anyone. Is a little wild and still needs coaching and technique work. Plays his best against the best.

NFL.com: Campus: 4.49 in the 40-yard dash … 525-pound squat … 321-pound power clean … 35-inch vertical jump … 4.03 20-yard shuttle … 32-inch arm length … 9-inch hands.

Combine: 4.32 in the 40-yard dash … 36-inch vertical jump … 10-foot-2 broad jump … 4.12 20-yard shuttle … Bench pressed 225 pounds 27 times … Chose not to run 60-yard shuttle.

9.1

25

*Robert Meacham 6-2, 205, 4.39

WR

Tennessee

Interesting Wide out with good size and speed. Had a great Combine and a great Proday. He appears to moving quickly up the charts, and he could be gone before Pats pick. Has great hands. Big strong hands that he uses to snag balls out of the air. Could be very tough for Patriots to pass on.

NFL.com: Meachem (6-3, 217) ran 4.41 and 4.48 in the 40 and 4.19 in the short shuttle. He had a 37½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-8 long jump. He stood on his bench press total from the Combine.

9.1

26

Dwayne Bowe-  6-2, 220, 4.4

WR

LSU

Tough, strong, great blocker, and knows how to get open. Who would be a lock for the First Round if not for inconsistent hands.

NFL.com: Bowe (6-2, 218) ran his 40s in 4.49 and 4.40 seconds. He also had a 37½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-5 broad jump.

9.1

27

Aaron Ross-  6-1/2, 193, 4.45

CB

Texas

Great quickness and ability to cut on a dime. Can run and cover with anybody. Should be a lock in the First Round. Looks lost in off coverable sometimes, and has trouble locating the ball in a Zone. Bump-and-Run Corner who should be available for Pats at 28.

NFL.com: "Ross not only excelled as a cover cornerback for the Longhorns, but was also a standout as a punt returner, scoring three times on 76 runbacks during his career. His natural hands were evident, as he also deflected 33 passes and intercepted 10 others. Despite only one full season as a starter, he also generated 205 career tackles."

Campus: 4.45 in the 40-yard dash … 275-pound bench press … 425-pound squat … 272-pound power clean … 35½-inch vertical jump.

Combine: 4.54 in the 40-yard dash … 1.58 10-yard dash … 2.63 20-yard dash … 4.15 20-yard shuttle … 6.67 three-cone drill … 34-inch vertical jump … 9-foot-10 broad jump … Bench pressed 225 pounds 17 times.

9.1

28

Michael Griffin- 6-0, 205, 4.40

CB/S

Texas

Great size, great speed, and great hips- can turn and run with anyone. Struggled last season with shoulder injury that caused him back off contact too much, which may cause him to fall on draft day. He could be steal in Second Round.

NFL.com: "Regarded by many NFL teams as the best strong safety prospect in the draft due to his hard-hitting tackling skills, Griffin's range and quickness might be a better fit for free safety at the next level. The unquestioned leader of the Longhorns defense, the two-year starter made it a family affair in the Texas secondary, starting alongside his twin brother, Marcus, who lined up at strong safety in 2006."

Griffin (5-11 7/8, 201) ran the 40 in 4.40 seconds. He also had a 39½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-8 broad jump, and stood on everything else he did at the Combine. He looked good.

Combine: 4.47 in the 40-yard dash … 1.6 10-yard dash … 2.63 20-yard dash … 4.1 20-yard shuttle … 11.27 60-yard shuttle … 6.6 three-cone drill … 36-inch vertical jump … 10-foot broad jump … Bench pressed 225 pounds 16 times.

9.0

29

Justin Blalock- 6-4, 330, 40 Reps

OT/OG

Texas

Will play Guard in Pro's. Many see him as a lock to step in and play for the next ten or fifteen years. Did an amazing 40 Reps at Combine.

NFL.com: Blalock (6-3¼, 321) stood on all his Combine performances and did only the position drills (but looked good in those drills). He should be a busy man shortly, with early April visits scheduled with the Cowboys, Redskins, Ravens, Vikings and Rams.

9.0

30

Paul Posluszny- 6-1, 233, 4.5

ILB

Penn ST.

More football player than athlete, and will probably be draft much lower then this. Some question his hips and how well he turns and runs. Played three seasons at Outside Linebacker, but moved Inside to help team. He would be a n Inside Linebacker in Patriots Defense.A player I'm not sure the Patriots can pass on. Similar to Dwayne Ruud. in that he won't test great, but will just make plays on the field.

NFL.com: "Posluszny is another in a long line of standout players to compete at the "Linebacker Factory" that has become a pipeline for producing standout defenders for the NFL. Not only have opponents regarded him as the best defender they have faced, but former Penn State All-American linebacker and NFL Hall of Famer Jack Ham characterized Posluszny as 'the best linebacker ever to play at Penn State.'"

Posluszny (6-1 ¼, 236) ran his 40s in 4.58 and 4.62. He looked good in all the drills.

Campus: 4.67 in the 40-yard dash … 375-pound bench press … 560-pound squat … 335-pound power clean … 31-inch vertical jump.

9.0

31

Justin Harrell- 6-4, 314, 31 Reps

DT/NT

Tennessee

Excellent against the run. Looked like first Round lock but serious injury knocked him down.

NFL.com: Harrell (6-4, 314) added 14 pounds more since the Combine, He had 31 bench presses and stood on numbers from the Combine.

8.6

32

Anthony Spencer-  6-2.5, 265, 4.73, 30 Reps

OLB/DE

Purdue

Another College DE who maybe switched to 3-4 Linebacker. Great first step, explosive pass rusher. Looks a little top-heavy.

NFL.com: Spencer (6-2 5/8, 265) ran 4.69 and 4.71 in the 40 but stood on his other numbers from the Combine.

8.8

2nd Round

33

Tony Ugoh-  6-5, 305

OLT

Arkansas

Great athlete who doesn't quite seem to know what he is doing yet. I liked what he did at the Combine and Senior Bowl. Sowed he has the feet to play LT. Displayed great athleticism, and toughness. Got injured at Combine and finished the day. Legitimate Left Tackle Prospect.

8.9

34

Ryan Kalil -  6-3, 286

C

USC

A little undersized, but great football player. Keeps getting bigger and stronger and showed up at the Proday near 300 pounds. Ready to step in and start.

NFL.com: Kalil (6-2¾, 296 pounds) stood on his numbers from the Combine.

8.9

35

David Harris- 6-2, 246, 4.53

LB

Michigan

Played great at Senior Bowl and, looks like a starter to me. May be the best 3-4 Inside Linebacker in the draft.

NFL.com: "Over the past two seasons, Harris has made remarkable progress on the football field. He entered the program with great promise, but suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee during the second game of his freshman year (against Houston in 2003) and it took him more than two years to recover from surgery."

"Positives: Has a thick upper body frame with good chest muscle definition, broad shoulders, developed arms, thick neck, good thickness in his thighs and calves … Tough and aggressive run defender who is at his best when playing at the line of scrimmage"

Campus: 4.66 in the 40-yard dash … 355-pound bench press … 30¾-inch arm length … 9 1/8-inch hands.

Combine: 4.59 in the 40-yard dash … 33-inch vertical jump … 8-foot-11 broad jump … 7.25 three-cone drill … Benched 225 pounds 23 times.

8.4

36

Marcus McCauley-  6.75, 203, 4.33

CB

Fresno ST

Sometimes looks great and sometimes looks horrid. Looks to be first boom or bust player. If he can find any kind of consistency he could be a good one. Bump-and Run corner who fits Patriots  System. Had great Combine.

NFL.com: McCauley (6-0 ½, 197) recorded a 36 ½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-8 broad jump, but stood on the rest of his Combine numbers.

8.9

37

Ben Grubbs -  6-3, 314, 35 Reps

OG

Auburn

Pure Guard. He can pull and hit anyone. Can get under the D-linemen and play with great leverage. Pass protects with balance and strength. Will just step into a O-Line and not leave for ten years.

NFL.com: "One of the most unheralded players in the collegiate ranks, Grubbs has that old-school mauler's mentality combined with the new-school athleticism that saw him become even more dominant during his senior year, filling the leadership void on the Auburn front wall."

Grubbs (314 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 5.10. He also had a 4.78 short shuttle, 7.70 three-cone drill and 35 strength lifts. He worked out well in position drills.

8.4

38

Arron Sears- 6-4, 310

OT/OG

Tennessee

Looks like a starter to me. Can play Guard or Tackle.

NFL.com: Sears (6-4, 310) ran 5.09 and 5.22 in the 40. He had 30½-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot-7 long jump, 4.50 in the short shuttle, and 7.63 in the three-cone drill. He stood on bench press total from the Combine.

8.5

39

Tim Crowder-  6-3, 270, 4.69

DE

Texas

Solid starter at Texas. Is really rising and will probably go in the 2nd Round. The more you look at him the more you like him. Great size, strength, and production.

NFL.com: "The quiet leader of the Longhorns defense, Crowder was a model of consistency at Texas, starting his final 47 games. He proved to be a difference maker on the front wall, registering 19 sacks with 40 tackles behind the line of scrimmage and 76 pressures in 51 games during his collegiate career."

Campus: 4.76 in the 40-yard dash. … 440-pound bench press. … 505-pound squat. … 317-pound power clean. … 31-inch vertical jump.

8.4

40

*Zach Miller- 6-4.5, 260, 4.72

TE

Arizona State

Tall, pass receiving TE. Running a 4.36 Short Shuttle at 255 Pounds is amazing! Has great hands and adjusts to the ball like a Wide Receiver. Strength and blocking is a concern. But he can catch anything thrown near him.

NFL.com: He had a good workout, running better here than at the Combine. Miller (6-4 ½, 255) ran 4.76 and 4.72 in the 40 and notched a 4.36 short shuttle and 16 bench presses.

8.8

41

*Jon Beason-  6-0, 229, 4.75

LB

Miami

Typical Miami Linebacker, speed, and production. His stock is flying up the charts, and it looks like he will be in the 1st Round. Looks like a Tampa Two Linebacker, fast and undersized. He is terrific against he run, but I question his value as a Patriots Linebacker.

NFL.com: "The team leader and a fiery competitor, the Dick Butkus Award candidate was bothered by several nagging injuries the second half of the 2006 season, but still went on to lead the team in tackles (76). The versatile and hard-hitting defender began his Miami career as a fullback, but shifted to strong-side outside linebacker as a redshirt freshman in 2004. He also played several games at middle linebacker that year before shifting to weak-side outside linebacker as a sophomore."

Beason weighed in a 229 pounds, down eight pounds from his weight at the Combine. He didn't work out because he strained a muscle while performing on the Cybex machines at the Combine. He will work out April 5 at his high school.

Campus: 4.63 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

Jason Hill- 6.5, 204, 4.32

WR

Washington ST

Perfect fit for Patriots Offense. Very good Wide Out at Washington. I thought he was most impressive WR at Senior Bowl. Got in and out of his cuts Quicker than any other player in practice. Would be an interesting pick at 28, but would be a steal in the 2nd Round.

NFL.com: "To truly appreciate Hill's big-play ability, one has to read further into his statistics. After taking over split-end duties, he caught 158 passes in 31 games. Of those receptions, 111 were good for first downs; he converted 42 third-down plays and one more on fourth down. He made 32 touchdown catches, coming up with critical catches that set up 52 touchdown drives and eight more that resulted in WSU field goals. Of his 158 receptions, 46 gained 20 yards or more."

Campus: 4.52 in the 40-yard dash. … Bench presses 225 pounds 11 times. … 34-inch vertical jump. … 32¼-inch arm length. … 9¼-inch hands. … Right-handed. … Wears contacts. … 22/38 Wonderlic score.

Brandon Meriweather- 5-10.6, 190, 4.5

FS/CB

Miami

Attitude is in question, and I'm not sure he can play Corner, but I am sure he will be a terrific Free Safety. Is not a physical hitter, and does not play strong.

NFL.com: "A full-time starter his last two seasons, he would go on to register 182 solo tackles, breaking the school career record for safeties that was set by College Hall of Fame selection Bennie Blades (155, 1984-87)."

Meriweather had a 9-foot broad jump and 11 bench presses. He ran the short shuttle in 4.42 seconds and the long shuttle in 11.84.

Campus: 4.52 in the 40-yard dash … 275-pound bench press … Bench pressed 225 pounds 11 times … 385-pound squat … 255-pound power clean … 4.42 20-yard shuttle … 11.84 60-yard shuttle … 9-foot broad jump.

Combine: 4.56 in the 40-yard dash … 1.64 10-yard dash … 2.68 20-yard dash … 4.33 20-yard shuttle … 7.06 three-cone drill … 35-inch vertical jump … 9-3 broad jump … Bench pressed 225 pounds 11 times.

*Sidney Rice- 6-2, 200, 4.5

WR

South Carolina

Sophomore who had great production over two season. Concern over route running and quickness in and out of cuts may cause him to drop.

NFL.com: There seemed to be only one person there who didn't think the field was ideal -- Rice's agent. He told Rice not to run. Rice (197) did do the long shuttle in 11.75 seconds and performed in the position drills.

LaMarr Woodley-  6-2, 265, 4.7

OLB/DE

Michigan

Has shown the athleticism to play Linebacker in NFL. He was a terrific Pass Rushing DE in college. Stock was really falling as he had a bad Senior Bowl and Combine, but ran a 4.71 forty, did 29 Reps, and jump 38.5 inches on his Proday. He may have worked his way back into the First Round. Is not just a pass-rusher, he is also excellent against the run.

NFL.com: "A relentless pass rusher who led the team in quarterback sacks in each of his last two seasons, Woodley was the heart and soul of one of the most dominant defensive lines in college football in 2006. Thanks to the play of Woodley and defensive tackle Alan Branch, the Wolverines led the nation in rush defense, allowing just 43.38 yards per game, and ranked fourth nationally with an average of 3.23 quarterback sacks per game."

Woodley (265 pounds) was invited to the Combine but did not run in Indy. He ran two 40s in 4.74 and 4.84 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.42. Claiming to have a tight hamstring, he skipped the three-cone drill. He also had a 38½-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-9 broad jump and 29 bench presses.

Campus: 4.62 in the 40-yard dash … 355-pound bench press … 35-inch vertical jump … 32 7/8-inch arm length … 9 7/8-inch hands.

Stewart Bradley-  6-3.5, 256, 4.6

LB

Nebraska

Big and fast. Can play outside in a 4-3 and inside in a 3-4. He is smart hard working and very strong. Solid Second Round pick.

NFL.com: "Has a developing frame that could add another 20 pounds for a possible move to rush end, with no loss in quickness … Has an athletic, big physique for a linebacker, with good upper body muscle definition, tight waist and hips, good bubble, strong lower body frame and only 10 percent body fat … Has adequate timed speed, but keeps plays in front of him and has a good short-area closing burst."

Campus: 4.71 in the 40-yard dash … 330-pound bench press … 32-inch vertical jump … 32 1/8-inch arm length … 9¼-inch hands.

*Dwayne Jarrett- 6-4, 215, 4.62

WR

USC

Jarrett is a huge and slow WR who looks like a good fit in the West Coast Offense. He is the source of much dispute in this draft. Some think he could go as high as 7 to the Vikings, and some have him dropping into the Third Round. I admit I am not a big fan, but his size and production cannot be ignored. Against Off Coverage he is a force. He instinctually finds the soft spots in the zone and looks natural running free. But against Press Coverage he looks slow, unnatural, and suffering trying to get separation.

NFL.com: Jarrett (6-4, 214) ran his 40s in 4.67 and 4.62 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.20 and the three-cone drill in 7.28. He also had a 36½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-1 broad jump.
