The 2019

Patriots Season.

Pats: 7-Things for Wildcard: Part VI.

The Playoffs Have Started.

Titans have an excellent defense. They also have a clutch defense. The most dangerous stat with the Titans is that they are number one in Redzone defense. They force field goals when teams get close. Titans run a 3-4 Defense that Vrabel excellent at in New England. They like to mix up the rushers and come for all angles. Logan Ryan looks like he lost a step deep outside, but he understands position as well as anyone.

He knows where to be and how to get there. "Excited and focused. We know we’ve got a big challenge, a very tough test. Great football team coming here. It’s playoff football and everyone knows what’s at stake, so you certainly have to earn it to move on," TB12 said. "You have to play good. A lot of plays come up over the years when I think about playoff football, and if you’re on the wrong end of one of them, it’s your season. If you’re on the right end, you move on. You don’t know which play is that going to be and you can’t take anything for granted. Guys are working hard and trying to do the right thing." They do a great guy with the second guy in swiping at the ball to knock it out.

Titans have an excellent defense. "They mix it up, they mix it up. They blitz secondary players and they blitz linebackers, and then they fake up there and don’t blitz anybody. They do a good job," BB said. "Dean and Mike do a very good job of keeping the offense off balance with a variety of what they do defensively, so they’re not very predictable and they give you a lot of different looks, but it’s all things that they’re pretty familiar with and they play well. It’s not like a couple blitzes each week and it’s a bunch of new stuff every week. That’s not really their main thing.

"They have a good plan and a good package and they have good variety in it, they mix them up, they keep you honest. If you’re looking for one thing over here, you could get something else over there and vice versa. They kind of make them look the same and make you figure it out after the snap. And if you guess wrong, then they, like you said, they’ve gotten a lot of sack production out of their DBs. They don’t bring them all the time, but they bring them enough that you’ve got to worry about it. If you’re watching the wrong one then somebody else will get you. They do a good job." They also have a clutch defense.

AJ Brown is the guy who had the most surprising season. "Obviously, you all know we practiced against them. They’re great receivers," Gilmore said about Corey Davis and AJ Brown. "They’re having a big year and Tannehill is having a big year, so it’s going to be a dogfight. Prepare as much as we can, and I’m looking forward to the matchup and giving it all I got for my team." He is a phenomenal talent.

He had a phenomenal rookie season. "Impressive. Look, there’s great receivers down there, the receivers and the tight ends. They had a real explosive group and he was a big part of it," BB said about AJ Brown. "He was impressive. He’s obviously done well. When we practiced against him, I think that was about the first time he was getting on the field, I don’t think he had done a lot before that, and then we saw him out there those couple days of practice and gradually, through the course of the year, it’s hard not to notice somebody who’s made so many explosive and big plays.

"He’s a tough guy to handle. He’s big and he’s fast, good with the ball in his hands, smart kid. They move him around. He does a lot of different things. He has an extensive route tree and it looks like obviously there’s a great chemistry between him and Tannehill. They’ve been very productive together." He garnered 1,051 yards and 8 TDs on 52 catches.

But it is not a good plan to rely on a rookie to win in the Playoffs. Corey Davis is the guy that Gilmore will be on. Their passing game relies on play action. Tannehill is not going to win this game on his own. He has to have Henry running for over 100-yards. The Pats Defense knows that.

The Pats have to stop the run. "It's a big challenge," Gilmore said. "They can do everything. They can run the ball, they can throw it. So, any time you can do that and be balanced, you’re going to be a good offense. So, it’s going to take all 11 guys, and trusting each other and playing for each other." They will kill you if you let them run, and then you can’t stop the passing game.

The Pats are built to stop the run. They have the big defenders to stop the run. The Titans have a nice thunder and lightning blend of Henry and Dion Lewis. If they stop the run the Pats win. If they don't it is going to get tougher and tougher as the night goes on.

Be A Citizen! Not a Subject!

Fascist is as Fascist does. Beware American. President Fredo is pulling the cowardly republican Senate closer and closer to the cliff.

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances:

The 1st Amendment to the Constitution is the greatest paragraph ever written by mankind. It is the truest diagram of how to ensure a free Country of citizens survives. But is is also a list of what to attack when you want to be a fascist dictator. President Jerkballs is attacking every article in the 1st Amendment. Beware subjects, or you will be subjugated:

Trump briefed Graham on airstrike,

but kept Dems in the dark.

It’s called the Gang of Eight. On matters of highly sensitive intelligence, eight congressional leaders – the top two members from each chamber and the Intelligence Committees – are supposed to receive special briefings and notifications, which are shared with no other lawmakers.

The process is more than just a courtesy between branches of government: the Gang of Eight briefings are an important oversight step, required by statute, ensuring a level of accountability on matters of national security.

For example, ahead of a U.S. airstrike targeting and killing Qassim Suleimani, a commander of Iran’s military forces in the Middle East, one might expect the executive branch to notify the Gang of Eight. This week, according to Democratic members of the group, that did not happen.

Donald Trump did, however, apparently let Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) know. TPM reported this morning:

While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) rails against President Donald Trump for approving a fatal attack on Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani without consulting Congress, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said that he got a special early briefing while golfing with Trump in Florida.

“I was briefed about the potential operation when I was down in Florida,” Graham said Friday morning on Fox and Friends. “I appreciate being brought into the orbit.” […]

Graham was spotted golfing with Trump earlier this week at the President’s West Palm Beach golf club.

Or put another way, we’re apparently moving away from the Gang of Eight reporting process and toward a process in which the president notifies an allied senator about national security decisions while sharing a tee time.

If this sounds at all familiar, Trump also kept the Gang of Eight in the dark on the mission targeting Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the founder and leader of ISIS, a few months ago. The president did alert Lindsey Graham – who is not a member of the Gang of Eight and whose Senate responsibilities do not require notifications like these.

This isn’t how any of this is supposed to work in this country, though clearly Trump doesn’t care. What’s less clear is what might happen in the future – because the funny thing about norms, institutions, and respect for the rule of law is that once they’re broken, they’re awfully tough to piece back together.
