are at Home this week, and feeling pretty good about themselves.
"This will be a great environment, a hostile environment, great atmosphere. Buffalo's got great fans. They always give us a warm reception. I'm sure we'll get another one this
week," BB said. "Hopefully, we can go out there and play competitively on Sunday afternoon. We've got a lot to get ready for, a good team, well coached, very sound all the way through in all three phases of the game, got a lot of good players, a lot of experience, a lot of guys who know what they're doing and have done it for a while, have done it against us, done it well. We'll have to be ready to meet those challenges."
They will have some advantages this week.
Edelman and Gordon both a little banged up from last week, it will give
their Corners a little step up in coverage. "I said after the game, he’s as tough as they come. He’s faced a lot. You know, he’s a very, very tough guy. He’ll do everything he can to get ready to
go," Brady said about Edelman. "Certainly, when he’s out there, it’s a big boost for our offense. He just does so many things for us and he’s so dependable, consistent – he’s a great player. When he’s not out there, it’s definitely noticeable for all of us. Hopefully, he can make it, and if he can’t, the other guys have got to fill in and do the best job they can do. So, you’ve just got to prepare for both."
After getting harpooned in the chest by the crown of a helmet, he is
somehow ready to rock an' roll.
still out, it will give the Bills an advantage rushing Brady, and this is not
the year to be giving any advantages to the Bills D-line. "I think everyone’s pretty aware on defense. I think they have a lot of veteran players that do a very good job of rocking in and out of different looks and so
forth," Brady said. "I think Coach McDermott puts them in a good position, and Coach
Frazier, they put them in a good position where they can make things look similar and then they’re a little bit different.
"I mean, I’ve been at this for a while, so I know what they’re trying to
do. They know what I’m trying to do. I mean, I’ll figure it out once the ball is snapped. So, try to get it to the open guy and let them do something with it." I
mean, I get it Tom. But your targets are shrinking a little.
still limited, and listed as questionable, they will have to
heavily rely on Phillip Dorsett again, whether Matt plays or not. "He’s done a great job for us and he’s making a lot of plays for
us. We put him all over the field, and [the dude] just continues to
improve," Brady said. "I think this has been a big year for Phil. He’s worked really hard, put himself in a great position to take advantage of his opportunities, and he’s certainly done it. So, everyone’s happy for Phil. Nobody deserves it more than
"And he’s going to need to keep doing it. He’s one of the guys that’s now become one of the people on the team that you just have to count on week-to-week and you have to know exactly what you’re going to get."
He's going to need to keep doing it. No truer words.
a smart coach, who is smart enough to try and steal what he can when he
sees something great the Pats are doing. "I think you're always trying to do that. We're still doing
that," BB said when asked about the Bills HC McDermott saying he
models whatever he can steal from watching BB in action. "We still look at what other teams in the league do in different areas and try to find things that we think would help us or that we can do better or that they do well.
"Are they the same as us and is that good, or are they different and would that work for us, or why does it work for them? But yeah, definitely. I appreciate the compliments from Sean, but I think they've done a great job. He's done a great job with that program.
He and [Brandon] Beane and their staff. They've got a good football team and they're young. I'm sure they'll keep getting better."
He gave the Pats all they could handle in the first three quarter of the game in
Buffalo last year.
Brady look like a rookie for three quarters, and only allowed a field goal a
quarter last year. "[The
Bills are] very tough. I agree. They’ve been ranked up there for a while now, and I think they’re good at all
levels. So that’s the challenging part," Brady said. "They have a good front, very good at linebacker, very good in the secondary, play the pass well, tough, physical, stout defense, well-coached, fundamentally sound.
"They play well at home; it’s a great environment.
So it’s pretty tough. It’s pretty tough. It’s a great challenge. They’re
3-0. They’re off to a great start. They’ve got a very good football team and it’s going to be really a great environment for football. They’re going to challenge us. This will be the toughest game we’ve faced, and we’re going to have to play a great game." Brady
deeply remembers what he did last year in Buffalo.
this game is going to rest on the defense. The Offensive doesn't have to
score 50, or even 20 points in this game to win. If they score 9-points in
the first three quarters they should still be ahead, like last season. But
this is going to be another tough ugly game in an ugly environment. So
survive the first three quarters, and just smile at the end of the 4th
when the Pats win.
