TO THE GOOD NEWS. Holy crap do we have a Defense. Have you seen some of
the stats. Three points in the first two games! This defense is at Home
against a rookie QB. Their scheme is very unusual and confused and
destroyed two veteran QBs in two games so far.
playing an odd 3-4 scheme. It is not like a regular 3-4 scheme that lines
up five guys every down on the line of scrimmage, and certainly not like
BB's early 3-4s. They have two OLBs, Collins and Van Noy, who play more
like 4-3 OLBs. They do not really have the traditional Edge guys as their
3-4 OLBs. I think it has caused some confusion for opposing
and Van Noy will rush of course. But both have been more effective
dropping in coverage. Obviously much more so with Collins, who has been
spectacular in coverage. He had a great pick-six last week. He has two
picks and half a sack on the season. That is not a normal line for a 3-4
Edge guy. He also is leading the defense with 12 tackles.
"I would agree with that, yes. We’re glad to have Jamie back. He’s a special player. He’s a smart player who really just has a feel for getting to the
ball," Pats LB coach Covington said. "With him being in the building before, gives him a step ahead coming back of knowing the defense and the way we play and the
'do your job' type of mentality we have in our building. He walks in the building knowing that’s the attitude and that’s the way we coach our players. So, with that being said, he’s been awesome. He’s been doing a good job for us. Whatever we ask him to do, he’s been doing it to the best of his ability, and hopefully we continue to have that going forward."
has been elite so far this season. "I think he’s done a good job. He’s done everything we’ve asked him to
do," Covington said. "Like I said before, he’s a very smart player. He has a nose for the ball. He does a good job in preparing well weekly for the opponent. He does a good job of playing fast, playing physical and really just playing at a high level in any role we ask him to do."
It is just such an odd blend in an Odd front.
has changed, and edgerushers have to be able to cover RBs and TEs outside
the Seams consistently. "He’s definitely a smart football player. He has the ability to play on the line and off the line. He sees things
fast. He reads them fast and he’s able to recognize formations and recognize people and players based off of what they do and react
quick," Covington said. "Him being able to do that and being versatile is definitely a key part of his game where he’s able to go out there and play fast because of how smart he is. He has very high football IQ."
Collins was a high school Safety, who also played safety when he first
went to Southern Mississippi.
So he is
more used to coverage than most OLB. So while they don't have traditional
Edge guys at OLB, they do have four linebackers on the field who can rush
from any angle. The veteran core of this defense is as good as it gets in
the NFL. With a plethora of young linebackers waiting to come in and prove
he’s a captain for the 2019 season. So that says a lot about his leadership ability, and that’s all voted by his teammates. With that, he’s done a great job as a leader of our defense. He’s a veteran. He knows the defense in and out, so he’s like a coach on the field. He’s able to communicate effectively on the field, to communicate effectively in the meeting room, so he’s been
great," Covington said. "The leadership role has been great. He’s been doing it on and off the field, which is a good thing for us and makes our job as coaches easier to have players like him, Jamie Collins, Kyle Van Noy, Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung.
All those guys out there on the field who have a ton of experience and a ton of knowledge and are able to go out there and really be coaches on the field when the lights come on."
1st in Total Defense, yards allowed. They are 2nd in yards allowed rushing
giving up 37 rushing yards per game. They are 8th in passing yards, only
giving up 209-yards per game. That is incredible in this age of inflated
stats for Fantasy Football. They are also 2nd in INTs with 5 (Broncos have
6). And the Jets are marching into Foxboro with rookie first-timer Luke
Falk, who was not know for his arm strength in college. Yikes!
ahem, surprised he was drafted. "I was like, 'no way (I like totally
got drafted dude),'” Falk said. “It was pretty cool. I was just happy to get drafted.”
Now he is starting for the first time.
least he is kind-ah, sort-ah, almost ready to play. “It’s been a bit of a
whirlwind,” Falk said. “But it’s starting to slow down. I’m just excited for the opportunity. I just want to go out there, do my job and help my team win.”
Well, at least it is slowing down as he is about to face the best defense
he has ever seen.
points take the dough!
A Citizen! Not a Subject!
is as Fascist does. Beware American. President Fredo is pulling the
cowardly republican Senate closer and closer to the cliff.

1st Amendment to the Constitution is the greatest paragraph ever written
by mankind. It is the truest diagram of how to ensure a free Country of
citizens survives. But is is also a list of what to attack when you want
to be a fascist dictator. President Jerkballs is attacking every article
in the 1st Amendment. Beware subjects, or you will be subjugated:
