always my week for Patriots paranoia. I expect to lose in Miami every year
the game is in Miami. The heat is just too much of an adjustment. Last
season it surely looked like they had made the adjustment... it is still
too early to talk about it. Last night it was 45-degrees in New
England. The forecast for Miami today is 82-degrees with 83% humidity.
That would chaff my nuts.
last year... just as I was celebrating a
win... it happened again.
When they have to go down to Miami in September, it is always a massive
advantage for Miami. It has been going on since the 70s. This season the Patriots are massively more talented
and prepared than the Dolphins, with the Dolphins new coaching staff a 1st year
all seems to melt in the snow when they Pats go down to Hell-ami. When a
team is near perfect one week, it is as rare as a snowball fight in Miami
that they are perfect the next week. If the Pats are perfect again this
week it will be very difficult to say they can't revenge 2007 Super Bowl.
It will mean they are as talented as they looked last week. Which would be
there is one team the Dolphins are over prepared for it is the Pats. “There’s obviously familiarity both
ways,” McDaniels said. “But I would that that probably is the case most of the time. I know he was here, so that may give him a little bit of insight about specific people and the way we do things and all those
things. But, I think honestly, at this point in time, the best thing for us to do is really not concern ourselves with all of the things that they may know or could know or what type of advantage is gained in that regard and really to focus on the things we need to do to improve.
That’s kind of where our focus is going to be at, rather than trying to chase ghosts in terms of what may or may not be an advantage based on the relationships we’ve had.”
Brian Flores knows
the Patriots D, maybe even better than McDaniels does at this point. And
he knows the offense he practiced against for years better than any other
HC in the NFL. He has the film and the insight to cause a lot of
might be overstating it a little, especially with all the changeover this
off season, but Flores worked with all the main guys in the Pats D for
problem is that they might not have the talent or the experience in the
system. "Everybody has a lot of respect for Flo and what he was able to do during his time here. I have great respect for who he was when he was here, and obviously wish him the best of luck as he moves
forward," McDaniel said. "I think in this league it's probably been the most eye-opening going into my second year.
You always have players, you always have coaches, you have a lot of cross over week-to-week of guys that used to be together. I know it's a lot to write about, but I think it's probably something that the outside world looks at a lot more than we do."
It just always seems to be something when they go down to Miami that kills
them in the end.
know last week the Pats looked like they would go undefeated during the regular
season again. "I think it's a great motivator for guys individually to be able to grow from where we were at on Sunday, when we left the field against Pittsburgh, to get ready for Miami,"
McDaniels said. "And know that the things that they were able to do well on Sunday that we have to be ready for on Sunday, and then the unknowns. Being that this is only regular season Week 2, you just don't have a lot of film out there and the way that game unfolded. To see exactly what's happening in our game, it's going to be a lot of
'get to the game [and] see what it is', and be able to react to it.” No
team can sustain what they did last week for a full season, so you have to
expect some let downs.
blow out for the Dolphins last week was crushing. They were absolutely, completely, and
utterly annihilated in the 1st Half. They gave up 42-points in the 1st
Half. But they fought back and only gave up 17 point in the
2nd half. Not great, but it can take a while to get used to a new system
sometimes. The Dolphins want payback this week from last week's embarrassment. And
the Pats are riding high after the near perfectly executed game plan
